The much anticipated phone from Nokia, the Pureview 808, which sports a 41 Mega Pixel camera, is all set to be launched in India. If a timer at www.nokiapureview.in is to be believed, the phone would be launched in the next few hours (the timer has been removed as of now).
Believed to be the N8′s successor, the Pureview runs on Symbian Belle OS. India is expected to be the first markets where the phone will be launched, along with Russia. The Pureview has generated a lot of interest, owing to its 41MP sensor and Carl-Zeiss optics and a pixel-oversampling technology. The sensor condenses 7 pixels into one, giving an extra-sharp and light filled image at 5MP or 8MP. At 4:3 aspect ratio, max image quality is 38MP while at an aspect ratio of 16:9, image quality is 34 MP
Preordering has also begun, where one can pre-order the phone at http://getnokia.in/Pureview/form.aspx. As far as the price is concerned, the Pureview will set you back by almost Rs 30000, still far cheaper than the Samsung Galaxy S3. Nokia also offers a Lens-Protect worth Rs 1000 free on pre-ordering the phone.
